After a full day and night at sea we awakened at an island in the Bahama chain owned by Holland America. The only inhabitants are a few people who care for the horses since riding along the beach is one of the attractions offered here. Glass Bottom boats, snorkeling, and lounging on the pristine beaches with water that is at least five shades of blue is all there is here. I think most of the passengers did get off and at least take advantage of a chance to walk on shore. “Thelma and Louise” were on shore for a couple of hours at the beach, and I read all day.
We were in the Crows Nest for Trivia tonight, but we didn’t do too well. There were about 30 at Mass tonight. Through the week there were people from Ireland, Canada, Cincinnati, Denver, St Louis, Kansas City, Baltimore, cities in Florida, and France. I slept through “How to increase Your Metabolism” and did my best to avoid the Steel Drum Band that seems to be everywhere on the ship. I just looked over the program for the day and am disappointed to discover that I missed “Complimentary Footprint Analysis.”
Enough! Tomorrow morning we will be off the ship around 8:30 then call Msgr Fetcher who will drive over in the red van to pick us up, and we should all be home in Naples by 11:00 a.m. so there will be no further reports from the Westerdam.
